The game started off at a furious pace with Tenby's intention to get the ball out wide to release their pacy backs. Early on, Richard Williams and Lloyd Wilson both cut holes in the Narberth defence, but on each occasion the outstanding Narberth number eight, captain Lloyd Phillips, made excellent covering tackles.
The first try of the evening was from a solid Tenby scrum and nippy scrum-half Rhys Thomas left the Narberth defence trailing as he sped over from 20 metres.
This had the Tenby supporters in full voice, which raised the team, with Lloyd Wilson taking the initiative as he received the ball at pace and weaved his way through the Narberth defence to score in the corner.
Tenby were now on a high and Ben Field-Thomas had a magnificent solo run, but unfortunately put a foot in touch to deny him having a try.
Just before half-time, centre Richard Williams, who was having a cracking game, unfortunately sustained a bad knee injury which resulted in a trip to Withybush. He was replaced by Gareth Merriman, with the half-time score remaining at 10-nil.
To Narberth's credit, they came out in the second half with with all guns blazing, Lloyd Phillips grabbing two tries and converting one, to make the score 12-10 to the home side.
As the boys were crouched behind the posts, coach Chris Williams and John Handicott gave the team a stern talking to.
From the re-start, Duncan Meacher secured good ball for Steve Handicott, who put a lovely chip into the corner which resulted in Narberth clearing to touch for a lineout.
John Walker, as usual, hit his target, Nick Drewit, who fed quick ball to his number 10, Steve Handicott, who put in a big kick upfield for Lloyd Wilson and Robbie Tuttle to chase, which caught the defence napping, and Wilson was able to nip in and score his second try of the evening. Adam Ball converted to make the score 17-12.
With 10 minutes remaining, Narberth kicked deep into Tenby territory, from where fullback Oliver Morgan, who was playing up a year and was having an excellent game in defence and attack, ran the ball back into the Narberth half.
He then worked a neat scissors movement with Johnsee Lewis, who only knows one way, making 20 yards for forwards Aaron Sutton, Joe Smith and mobile second row Adam Hughes to wipe out the Narberth defence, who gave away a penalty for coming over the top 30 yards out.
This enabled captain Alan Ball to round off an excellent match by slotting over the resulting kick at goal to make the score 20-12.
After that, Barry John came on and made some excellent covering tackles to keep the Narberth attack at bay.
John and Chris would like to thank all the boys, including the substitutes who didn't get on, because this was a squad effort. The Swifts would like to wish Richard Williams a speedy recovery, and special thanks to the parents and supporters for their support and help with transport, and to Narberth for their hospitality.

TENBY SWIFTS U11s 35 pts. PEM DOCK QUINS 0
A convincing win was recorded in this cup tie, but this was not the best performance, nor what we have come to expect from our invincible Under 11s.
Too often players seemed to have forgotten how or when to pass the ball, to the extent that captain and wing, James Canton, did not get as much as a sniff of the ball in the first half.
Nevertheless, the game was won by five converted tries to nil, with another hat-trick for Toby Smith and one apiece from James Williams and Matthew Davies. All five tries were converted by Patrick Roberts.
The scoreline could have been greater had the Swifts used their overlaps against an improved Quins team that was solid up front but lacked the cover out wide. Forwards Daniel McDermott, Yannic Parker and Joseff Morris battled hard up front, with Patrick Roberts and Oliver Goldwait proving a mobile second row.
Scrum-half Kiefer Thomson provided a good service out of some sticky situations and Jamie Williams and Toby Smith made some exciting incursions. James Canton and Matthew Davies kept the flanks covered, while Robert James and Matthew Grey made useful contributions in the last quarter.
On then to the quarter-finals to be played on Easter Sunday against the winners of the Aberystwyth/Haverfordwest tie, with some passing practice the order of the day before that clash.
Tenby fielded: James Canton (capt), Matthew Davies, Matthew Gray, Toby Smith, Jamie Williams, Kiefer Thomson, Joseff Morris, Yannic Parker, Daniel McDermott, Robert Jones, Oliver Goldwait and Patrick Roberts.
