Picturesque Tenby Harbour is probably one of the most photographed and painted locations in Wales.

However, three local artists had just four hours to capture the scene on Monday in the opening leg of the Pembrokeshire round of Channel 4's Watercolour Challenge.

The popular daytime programme, made by Planet 24, is presented by Hannah Gordon and sees amateur artists challenged to paint a specific scene within four hours.

Visiting different locations over three days, the winner of each round goes forward to the grand final on the fourth day with a place in the national final up for grabs.

The Pembrokeshire round started in Tenby on Monday, with artists Vicky Lloyd, of Pembroke Dock, Jamie Jones, of Swansea, and Helene Fox, of Lampeter, challenged to paint a watercolour of Tenby looking back from the pier, all under the watchful eye of Hannah and art expert Hazel Soan.

Artists were challenged to capture views of Nolton Haven on Tuesday and Carew on Wednesday, before the grand final to be held in Milford Haven Oil Refinery yesterday (Thursday).

Winner of the Pembrokeshire heat will go head to head with the other regional winners during the grand final to be filmed in Tuscany later in the summer.

The Pembrokeshire round of Watercolour Challenge is due to be broadcast on Channel 4 at 3.30 pm daily from October 8.
