Winners of the Tenby in Bloom awards gathered in the Mayor’s Parlour at the De Valence Pavilion on Wednesday for a special presentation.
The In Bloom judges hit the town back in July to peruse over entries for the resort’s annual floral event, with the contest returning this summer, which saw a wealth of entrants playing their part to help the town keep its famous reputation as one of the best floral seaside resorts in Wales.
“We’d like to thank everyone for the tremendous effort they put into this year’s competition,” said Tenby In Bloom chair Cllr Sue Lane, who was on hand to present the winners with their trophies this week, along with fellow committee member Cllr Tish Rossiter, and the Mayor of Tenby, Cllr Sam Skyrme-Blackhall.
“It was lovely to see all the hard work that people have put in once again this year, and thanks goes to all those in the community that allowed us judges to come along and visit,” added Cllr Lane.
The Serendipity Holdings Rose Bowl was presented to the overall winner with highest points, who were Mr and Mrs Thornton, of Tara, Narberth Road; with other recipients of the awards for the different categories - ranging from private houses to hotels and guest houses; schools to retail outlets and restaurants - also picking up their accolades.
Pupils and staff of Tenby Church in Wales Primary VC School who won in their category were also present at the awards event.
