The Imperial Hotel in Tenby has announced the four finalists for its £1,500 Community Fund, following a call for local charities, community groups and organisations to put forward causes in need of support.
The initiative was launched to recognise the important work taking place across Tenby and the surrounding area, with the £1,500 award set to make a tangible difference to one local organisation.
Following an independent judging process, four finalists have now been selected from a whole host of deserving nominations to go forward to a public vote, giving the community the opportunity to decide which cause will receive the funding.
Jordan Hallett, Business Development Manager at Crest Hotels, said: “We have been delighted by the response to our Community Fund and the opportunity to learn more about the fantastic organisations working hard to make a difference in Tenby and the surrounding area.
“Our four finalists each do something incredibly valuable, whether that is creating opportunities for young people, supporting grassroots sport, teaching vital lifesaving skills or helping animals in need. Each application demonstrated a genuine commitment to the community, and choosing just four finalists was a difficult decision.
“We are now looking forward to handing the decision over to the public. We hope people will get behind the organisations, find out more about the work they do and help us decide where our £1,500 can make the greatest difference. We are proud to support these local causes and look forward to celebrating all four finalists at our special event.”
The four finalists are:
Tenby AFC - provides grassroots football for players from senior level down to under-sixes, including girls’ teams. With approximately 400 playing members, alongside volunteers and supporters, the club is an important part of the local community.
The funding would contribute towards upgrading the club’s clubhouse and facilities, which are in need of renovation. Improvements would help create a safe, welcoming hub for players and their families, support the continued growth of the girls’ section and provide a space that could also benefit the wider community.

Tenby Sea Cadets - helps young people develop confidence, teamwork, leadership and practical life skills through activities including sailing, kayaking, navigation, first aid and outdoor pursuits.
The organisation hopes to use the £1,500 towards replacing and upgrading its outdated showers and toilets, creating cleaner, safer and more suitable facilities for cadets, volunteers and visiting groups. The improvements would support the unit’s ongoing work to provide valuable opportunities for young people in Tenby and the surrounding area.
Tenby Surf Lifesaving Club - works to promote water safety and prevent drowning, Tenby Surf Lifesaving Club has been teaching lifesaving skills since 1993. The club has more than 60 junior members aged 16 and under, providing training in swimming confidence, surf safety and open-water skills, while also supporting local coastal events.
The funding would help cover the cost of winter pool training sessions for its junior members, keeping membership costs down and ensuring children can continue developing essential lifesaving skills. It would also contribute towards new first aid equipment to support the club’s work caring for casualties and its plans for volunteer beach patrols.
The Pettifor Animal Trust - supports animal sanctuaries across South West Wales, helping them manage the rising costs associated with caring for animals in need.
Rather than operating its own rescue centre, the charity provides practical support to established sanctuaries. The £1,500 award would contribute towards essential costs including animal food, bedding, veterinary treatment, medication and other supplies, helping local sanctuaries continue their vital work.
The four finalists will now go forward to a public vote, with the community invited to support the causes and help decide where the £1,500 can make the greatest difference. To cast your vote, please visit https://www.imperialhoteltenby.co.uk/pembrokeshire-community-fund before voting closes at midnight on 11th November 2026.
The winners will be revealed at a special dinner hosted by the Imperial Hotel on Thursday, November 12 where representatives from all four finalist organisations will be invited to attend a three course meal and celebrate their work.
Set in the heart of Tenby, overlooking South Beach, the Imperial Hotel is a destination for leisure breaks, dining and business events. Part of Crest Hotels Group, the hotel has a long-standing connection with the local area and welcomes both visitors and members of the surrounding community.
