Welsh regional pride is set to take over in the next few weeks as Wales' tourism hot spots battle it out for the 'My Special Place 2005' title as part of this year's National Tourism Awards for Wales. The Countryside Council for Wales' 'My Special Place' campaign, in association with the Wales Tourist Board, has just released a top 10 of current 'hot favourites' in the running for the title. And Tenby is one of them. Others are Snowdon, Aberystwyth, New Quay, St. Davids, Aberavon Beach, Porthcawl, Swansea, Cadair Idris and Betws y Coed. The public are being encouraged to vote for their favourite place over the next three weeks if they want to see them in the final three contenders. Voting is taking place on-line at http://www.ccw.gov.uk/">www.ccw.gov.uk/ myspecialplace until Friday, August 5. The winner of the 'My Special Place 2005' title will be announced at the National Tourism Awards for Wales on October 20, but a shortlist of the top three places will be announced in September.
