A damp drizzly morning last Saturday didn't put many of the juniors off, all being keen to have their Foundation cards updated and levels completed.
Mark and Ian worked with the long game group, their challenge being to hit three out of the five balls through a gap. The children were fortunate enough to have some handy tips given to them by the professional, before completing their challenge. Elliot Scotcher, Greg Palin, Greg Lees Griffiths, Ollie Worley, Leo Moreland, David Webb, Elliot Ronowitz, Rhys Lewis, Jack Hawkey, Hugo Wellum, Joanne Rowe, Meredith Davies, Emma Guerreriro and Ceri Lewis showed they were then capable of achieving the target.
The rest of the group were given the opportunity to practice and compete in a chipping competition. Rosie Rees, who has only just started with us, had her first hole in one! A splendid achievement for someone who has just started. Two other newcomers, Ashley Smith and Huw Evans, also chipped to perfection, scoring well.
In the second group, Alun Williams was very impressed by Sam Baxter's chipping, proving to be the overall winner in his group. Georgia Williams, Rhiana Davies and Lewis Butler also demonstrated how much they had come on.
Sunday was medal day and cup winners day. Ollie Worley is certainly enjoying this game, he had a wonderful score and has dropped his handicap to 38! Well done, you are the black box medal winner.
Sam Morgan had the game of his life, and played below his handicap. He was the overall winner of the December Junior Medal. Sorry David, but I'll give you a consolation prize!
The winner of the cup winners cup was Dan Cope with the best gross for the day, a 78. It must have been the early start! Well done Dan.
I have had a number of letters back about the Junior Dinner. Please could you return them as soon as possible as I need to let Roger and Ria know how many are coming by next week. It should be an excellent night, and one that you won't want to miss out on. For those of you who have won men's prizes, we will hopefully be able to present you with your trophies as usual.
