On Wednesday, June 4, the second half of Tenby Golf Club's Open Week started with a Men's and Ladies' medal, sponsored by Rigby Taylor. The ladies' competition was won by Anne Morris, of Tenby, with a net 82, second was Heather Morgan, of Tenby, with a net 84, and third was Dawn Bradbury, of Mappledurham, with a net 85. The men's competition was won by Jason Thomas, of Mappledurham, with a very good net 70 with a better back nine, second was Tony Guest, of Leominster, also with a very good net 70, and third was Colin Murphy, of Tenby, with a net 71. The competition was very kindly sponsored by Bob Bealdham, of Rigby Taylor. Thursday, June 5, was a Ladies' and Men's Stableford. The ladies' visitor competition was won by Susan Bailey with 27 points. The overall ladies' competition was won by Denise Edwards with an excellent 45 points, second was Heather Morgan with 32 points and third was Anita Davies with 31 points. The men's veteran competition was won by Donald Sigsworth with 36 points, second was Ray Chambers with 31 points and third was Colin Greenwood with 29. The overall men's competition was won by Frank Norman with a good 37 points, second was Nigel Barden with 35 points and a better back and third was Paul Tillin, also with 35 points. Thanks are due to Dawnus Construction for their generous sponsorship of all the Thursday competitions The last competitions of Open Week were held on Friday, June 6. They were Ladies' and Men's Greensomes Foursomes. The ladies' competition was won by Dawn Bradbury and Freda Clark with 33 points, second were Mavis Arding and Anita Davies with 33 points and third were A. Calvert and A. Frith. This competition was kindly sponsored by the Sinclair Group. The men's competition was won by Steve Hoskins and Gerard Saulters with a very good 38 points, second were Keri Hodson and Andy Stevens with 34 points and third were Gareth Jones and Mike Greeves with 33 points. The competition was kindly sponsored by T. P. Hughes. Overall, Open Week was a success and most of the guests expressed delight on playing the course. The weather was not perfect, but it was very good, and we look forward to next year.
