On Wednesday, the club met at Augustus Place Hall, and after business discussions, a quick game of charades was played.
This was followed by Victor reciting in Welsh, and then trying to teach everybody Calon Lan and Sospan Fach in Welsh ready for the Six Nations! That wasn't too bad, as quite a few knew them already, but the fun began when Victor tried to explain in English what each song said!
It was an afternoon with a learning curve because our speaker, John Griffiths, gave the cub a quick run through on the history of Hong Kong. It was amazing to learn how a chain of events could affect the lives of so many people during the last 100 years or so.
John talked about his part in this chain whilst he was a policeman in this part of the world. It was an eye opener for club members.
The club looks forward to John coming again to talk more about his time with the police in Hong Kong.
The meeting next Wednesday, February 5, will again be in Augustus Place Hall, commencing at 2 pm with a cuppa and biscuits. The speaker will be Robert Lewis.
New members are welcome. Please come to the hall, or for further information, contact Anne on 843632 or Shirley on 844002.
