Clarbeston

Road U14s 3

Tenby U14s 6

Tenby went into an early lead when James Bridges hammered in a right wing cross and this stirred 10-man Clarbeston Road into some excellent attacking football, mainly involving Tommy John and Laurie Howarth.

John's storming runs through the middle of the pitch caused havoc in the Tenby defence, where Nathan Wilson was outstanding and Lewis Roberts made some good interceptions, behind some panicky defending.

A run down the right saw the home team equalise with a shot inside the near post, and they then cashed in on their pressure to go ahead. Luckily for Tenby, this lead was shortlived, as in one of Tenby's somewhat disjointed attacks, Jerome Mansbridge forced the ball through several defenders to bring his side back to 2-2 by half-time.

Some adjustments to the Tenby line-up at half-time brought a tremendous improvement in their style and approach as they won the ball more often and counter-attacked to catch the home defence square on several occasions.

Two quick goals from Mansbridge built on the tremendous midfield work of Niall Kinsella and the energetic Luke Conbeer, while Elliot Rivers supplied the crucial cross for Mansbridge to score his fourth goal of the game.

Sound defensive play by Marcus Read, Shaun Whitfield and the energetic Jacob Dent, restricted the opportunities of Clarbeston Road and as the confidence of the team rose, more goal-scoring opportunities resulted, and when Ellis Morgan went through to score the sixth goal for Tenby, it signalled no way back for the home team.

Keiron Machin and Ryan Price came on to give Tenby fresh legs. A late penalty gave the home side's John a consolation for his hard running with the ball, but it was Tenby who went deservedly into the next round of the cup where they will meet local rivals Lamphey.

Tenby squad: Lewis Roberts, Jacob Dent, Shaun Whitfield, Marcus Read, Nathan Wilson, Elliott Rivers, Luke Conbeer, Niall Kinsella, James Bridges, Ellis Morgan, Jerome Mansbridge, Keiron Machin, Ryan Price.

Man of the Match - Nathan Wilson.

Penrhos U13s 0

Tenby U13s 7

The U13s made the trek to Ystradgynlais for a Hallowe'en fixture in the first round of the West Wales Cup. But there were no spooky moments  - just plenty of goals as the team cruised through to the next round!

A pitch with more craters than a lunar landscape, did nothing to deter a determined Tenby side who quickly adapted to the tricky conditions and soon had Penrhos under pressure.

After a couple of half-chances, Tenby deservedly opened the scoring with a far post volley by Charlie Gammer from a perfectly flighted Lloyd Hughes corner.

Penrhos fought back, but Tenby cleared their lines and doubled their tally on the break, with Scott Ferney on the end of a low cross from Declan Escott.

Within a few seconds of the restart, the score was 3-0, as Declan Escott beat the offside trap and placed a shot low into the bottom corner.

With Kieren Jones and Adam John dominating the midfield, Penrhos looked deflated, and Lloyd Hughes soon added a fourth for Tenby. The wizard winger then delivered another great cross, which Declan Escott cooly converted to make if 5-0 at half-time.

In the second half, Spencer Williams came on in midfield, replacing Owen Coombs who had enjoyed an excellent half in the centre of defence with Ben Roberts. Adam Muskett dropped back to sweeper, allowing leftback Luke Hartland to press forward at every opportunity, while Daniel Evans in the Tenby goal hardly had a save to make.

With the contest effectively over, the pace slowed in the second half. However, Tenby continued to control midfield and after a few near misses, Declan Escott bewitched the Penrhos defence with a mazy run to complete his hat-trick.

In the dying moments, Kieren Jones ran through on goal and capped a spellbinding performance with an unselfish pass across the six-yard box, treating unmarked Declan Escott to a magic seventh for the Seasiders.

Thanks to all the supporters who made the early morning trek north of Neath and to U13 kit sponsors, Park Road Fish and Chips.

CAMROSE 1

TENBY U12s 9

The Andrew Price sponsored U12s travelled to Camrose and enjoyed a well-earned victory.

After all the rain on Friday night, the pitch was excellent and Tenby started to play some great football.

With a few forced changes, Tenby settled the quicker, but it was Camrose who had the first shot at goal, but Harry forced it over the bar.

Luke and Louis caused a few problems, with Adam and Harri making some strong forward runs. Lewis and George added plenty of width and forced the home 'keeper into some good saves, with Jordan, joined by Ben in the middle of defence, and Morgan and Malley supporting at every opportunity.

Tenby opened the scoring with a great goal from Adam.

Between the two teams there was plenty of running and some good strong challenges, but the game was played in a very sporting manner.

The Tenby forwards started to get a grip of the game and Luke made it 2-0. Owain joined the attack and started to enjoy his forward role and ran hard at the Camrose defence. George made it 3-0 at half-time with a good finish from Lewis's corner.

The second half saw Tenby add two quick goals. Luke chased onto an excellent ball from Harri and lashed home a rocket of a shot, then it was Harri, himself, who slotted home goal number five.

Morgan forced his way down the right and played a one-two with Louis then crossed for George to score his second and Tenby's number six, while Owain made it seven when he forced his way into the box from the left and drilled his shot low past the helpless 'keeper.

Luke, who worked hard all game, linked well with Louis, who beat the 'keeper with a well-placed shot on the turn, only to see it smash against the post and roll along the line and somehow stay out.

It was not long before he completed his hat-trick, however, while not to be outdone, Louis got his goal to make it 9-0.

Credit to Camrose, they did not give up and broke away on the right and finished off the move with a low shot into the net for a well-deserved goal from a good hard-working team. So it finished 9-1. 'Well done boys'.

Training every Wednesday 5.30 at Tenby Astroturf. Thanks everyone for your support.

Team: Harry Goforth, Morgan Scourfield, Ben Howells, Jordan Cornick, Lewis Chapman, Malley Paxton, Harri Vaughan (capt), Louis Thompson, Adam Davidson, Luke Billing, George Taylor, Owain Smith.

Tenby U11s 5

Lamphey U11s 4

The Seasiders won their fourth consecutive game of the season at Lamphey on Saturday.

Tenby, sponsored by County Financial Consultants, had plenty of possession and made the most of the excellent surface with quick passing and movement to go one-nil up through Ryan Conbeer.

Lamphey immediately equalised after a lack of concentration and awareness from Tenby, but the away side kept passing well, with good movement from Billy Truman and Danny Wainwright in midfield, and a mistake from the hosts gave Tenby the lead, again through an own goal.

Striker Toby Poole then saw an opportunity and shot towards the goal to make it 3-1 at half-time.

After the break, a great ball from Poole put Cai Elms through on the right and he placed the ball in the corner to make it four.

Lamphey battled away and pulled two quick goals back as Tenby sat back.

James Harries, who came out of goal at half-time, then hit a great goal to put the game beyond Lamphey, who grabbed a fourth on the full-time whistle.

Praise must go to the home side's 'keeper who played well and kept the game to a tight finish, while Tenby played a good pass and move game against the more physical Lamphey, as both sides gave the supporters an excellent Saturday morning's game of football.

Thanks to Matt Broadhurst and Carl Wainwright for managing and coaching the very talented young Tenby team.

Team: Jack Broadhurst, Sam Harries-Perfect, Elliot Moorhouse, Tom Rossiter, Tom James, Cai Elms, Toby Poole, Danny Wainwright, Ryan Conbeer, Billy Truman, James Harris.
