TENBY U14s 11
MERLINS BRIDGE U14s 1
Tenby U14s professional attitude to this game resulted in some very mature football being played. The sharp passing and clinical finishing was superb to watch.
Richard Thomas made a welcome return to Tenby's goal, although he was under pressure to keep a clean sheet, a record set up by stand-in keeper Scott Helmich for the previous two weeks.
Joe Scourfield also made a return to partner the ever dependable Jordan Lloyd at centre-back.
Gavin Kinsey and Kurt Walsh played left and right back respectively. With captain Aaron Goldsmith recovering from illness, Tenby welcomed back Billy Vaughan to step into Aaron's position. With such re-shuffling of the team, one would have thought it would take time to settle down, but this proved a wrong assumption. With the midfield might of Adam Johns and Billy, together with Guto Griffiths and Luke Dedman on the flanks it wasn't long before striker Mikey Boswell opened the scoring.
This seemed to open the flood gates with another six Tenby goals before half-time. Boswell combined well with Sam Christopher up front and this allowed plenty of goal scoring opportunities. Bridge 'keeper Richard Reed played extremely well in goal, but Tenby's finishing was out of this world. The ever-present Adam Johns scored Tenby's second, quickly followed by a superb Christopher goal. Boswell scored twice again, then Christopher then Boswell to make it 7-0 at half-time.
Scott Helmich came on at right-back for the second-half and immediately going into play.
By now the Boswell/Christopher partnership was deadly and the team passing was excellent. Griffiths latched on to a through ball to score Tenby's eighth with a well-struck shot. Boswell scored again and then a lapse of concentration at the back saw Merlins Bridge get a consolation goal. This was only a minor set back with Christopher then Boswell each scoring again to make the final score 11-1.
Henry Boot and Jamie Robins came on in the latter stages and proved that Tenby has strength in depth. Kinsey pushed up onto the left flank and played some nice balls into the forwards feet, while Dedman came close to scoring on several occasions with deadly corners and free kicks. This was an excellent squad performance which hopefully will carry on for the rest of the season.
Thanks to Peter Horsley for his excellent refereeing and Nick Johns for running the line.
Squad: Richard Thomas, Kurt Walsh, Joe Scourfield, Jordan Lloyd, Gavin Kinsey, Sam Christopher (capt.), Luke Dedman, Guto Griffiths, Adam Johns, Billy Vaughan, Mikey Boswell, Scott Helmich, Henry Boot, Jamie Robins.

KILGETTY U8s
Tenby Under 8s played a return friendly against Kilgetty last Thursday at The Clicketts.
Tenby found themselves up against a greatly improved new formed Kilgetty side.
Tenby opened the scoring with Lloyd Hughes running onto a through pass. Richard Tebbutt scored Tenby's second with Ellis Morgan adding the third.
Jerome Mansbridge and James Bridges looked good in midfield, well supported by the hard tackling of Jacob Dent and Nathan Wilson, Oliver Parsons and Robert Davies looked solid in defence with Ryan Hill having more to do in goal this match. Brandon Taylor-Monaghan, Luke Conbeer and Shannon Robins came on for Tenby to make their debuts and Matthew and Ben Cloake also ran and tackled well.
In the second-half, Lloyd scored again with a well taken left foot drive before Jerome put his name on the score sheet.
Lloyd scored again after some good running and the final score was 6-0.
All credit to the Kilgetty side who competed well throughout the game and gave Tenby plenty to do.
Thanks to Sam Christopher for refereeing the match.

Girls Football
Tenby AFC entered three girls teams in the Texaco Pembrokeshire ladies and girls league festival last Sunday.
UNDER 10s
Tenby U10s fielded an almost new side with only Nia Thomas and Bethan Osborne remaining from last season's squad.
Their first match against Goodwick saw excellent goalkeeping by Eleri Canton, Kimberly Alman, Molly Goforth and Shannon Robins did some sterling defending work.
Holly Furlong and Nia Thomas ran well up front with Lois Horsley, Bethan Osborne and Rachel Leeping out in the midfield.
Goodwick won the first game 3-0, when they caught Tenby out of position on several occasions.
In the second game, Tenby played a much tighter game with more determined tackling and better team play.
Goodwick went 2-0 before Nia Thomas scored a terrific free kick after being brought down just outside the box. The final result was 2-1, making Goodwick winners and Tenby runners-up in the league.
The girls all enjoyed playing and will have gained experience from their first proper matches.
TENBY U12s
Tenby Under 12s started off as strong favourites with many of last season's girls available still to play in this age group.
In their first game they beat a strong Saundersfoot side 3-1 with goals from Rhianne Griffiths (2) and Elena Ciccotti (1). Lucy Morris making her debut was safe in the Tenby goal with Sophie Izzard and Natalie Johnson strong in defence.
Gracie Bevan and Gemma controlled the midfield with Louri Lewis, Ellen Thomas, Zoe Griffiths and Yasmin Woods all coming on to help the side out.
The next match was an exciting affair, against Goodwick.
Rhianne Griffiths opened the scoring with Sophie Izzard adding two more to make sure Tenby picked up maximum points with a 3-0 victory.
Tenby re-shuffled the side against Neyland allowing everyone to have a good run out.
Sophie Izzard scored a fantastic hat-trick before being replaced at half-time with Elena Ciccotti scoring the fourth in a 4-0 victory.
With nine points, Tenby were run away winners of the U12s section.
Well done to all the girls who played so well.
TENBY U14s
With all the squad moving up an age group, Tenby knew this was going to be a hard contest.
In the first match the side seemed to be half a sleep, the game resulted in a 1-1 draw against Saundersfoot.
Lucy May scored Tenby's goal and was 'player of the match' in all Tenby's games. Victoria Brace played in goal, with Lucia Fecci and Sophie Rees pairing in the defence. Holly Cloak, Sophie John and Leah played in midfield.
In the next match against Goodwick things were not much better and this resulted in a 0-0 match.
However, against Felin Fach the team seemed to come alive. Excellent keeping and distribution from Sophie John lead to many Tenby attacks. After some good attacking and defending by all the team members, Tenby won 2-1 with goals from Holly Cloake and Elena Ciccotti.
In their last game, the U14s played the kind of football that was unrecognisable to their earlier games.
They beat Neyland 5-2 with Sophie John getting a good hattrick, with other goals from Lucy May and Holly Cloake.
Unfortunately this was too little too late and Saundersfoot on the same points as Tenby just won on goal difference.
Squads: U10s - Bethan Osborne, Rachel, Nia Thomas (capt.), Eleri Canton, Holly Furlong, Lois Horsley, Molly Goforth, Kimberely Alman, Shannon Robins.

Thanks to all the parents for their support. All the girls are now looking forward to the start of the indoor league.

PENNAR ROBINS U13s 1
The Blooms of Lower Frog Street sponsored Tenby Under 13s travelled to Pennar Robins last Saturday hoping for their first win of the season.
Bolstered by the return of Toby Smith, Tenby took an early lead when he chipped the Pennar 'keeper from the six yard line.
This was to be the start of a goal feast for the Tenby squad.
Jamie Williams terrorised the Pennar defence with his strong aggressive running and was rewarded with four fine goals. Kiefer Thomson was superb in attack and was rewarded with three goals, one of which was a finely judged header, much to his mother's dismay, because he was on £5 pounds for a hat-trick.
Chris Heesom starting in the centre midfield used his devastating pace to good affect scoring two well worked goals.
The back four of Nasher, Patrick, Dan and Matthew were outstanding throughout, both in their attacking runs and solid defence.
Patrick demonstrated his skills with the ball at his feet and produced the goal of the game with a long range shot which gave the competent Pennar 'keeper no chance.
Rhys Winter was his usual live wire self and was unlucky not to figure on the scoresheet.
Richard Bridges was largely untroubled in the Tenby goal, apart from one fine piece of play by Pennar which resulted in their only goal of the game.
James Maxwell produced the centre forwards with some quality ball. William Hughes who is suffering with injury, Johnny Lammin and Tom Griffin all came on in the second half and produced valuable contributions to the team effort.
The final score was 12-1 to Tenby. This was an impressive result from a promising Tenby side which now appears to have found its feet.
Tenby are looking forward to facing a formidable Monkton side and hoping for the return of the reclusive Brynley Hughes next week.

HUNDLETON U11's 0
Sporting their new strip sponsored by Tenby Cycles and Skateboards, Tenby Under 11s maintained their winning ways with a good victory over Hundleton.
The Seasiders dominated the first half and didn't take long to score their first goal, when Jordan Richards collected a pass from Phil Horsley and made no mistake with a thumping shot.
Josh Koop added another cracking goal to his season's tally after a good passage of play involving Ben Green, Alex Heesom and Richards. Richards found space and the time to knock in number three with another superb strike which gave the visiting 'keeper no chance.
Just before the break, Ashley Smith grabbed goal number four when his long range effort hit the cross bar and the post, before ending up in the back of the net.
A revitalised Hundleton side started the second half and took the game to Tenby, with Ceri Brace and Jamie Oatley giving the home defence no time to settle. Greg Lees-Griffiths, Matthew Davie and Curtis Hurlow, in goal for the absent Jake Roberts, rose to the task admirably.
Oliver Worley went close with a couple of chances, but all were well saved by Liam Williams in the Hundleton goal. In fact, Williams kept the score down with a number of good saves, but was eventually beaten by Richards who completed a very well deserved hat-trick.
All the Tenby squad wish Jake a speedy recovery after his recent operation.
Tenby team: C. Hurlow, G. Lees-Griffiths, M. Davie, A. Smith, P. Horsley, J. Richards, J. Koop, B. Green, A. Heesom, O. Worley.
