TENBY U14s 10
SAUNDERSFOOT U14s 0
The Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions sponsored Tenby Under 14s opened the scoring in this local derby after only 30 seconds when Damian Walters fired home a fierce drive from a Matthew Fleming cross straight from the kick-off, despite turning out with only 10 players against Saundersfoot's 11.
Tenby's second came when Ben Messenger played a lovely ball through the middle for Ashley Prior to score on the half-volley. David Jones made it 3-0 when he converted a Jamie Robinson corner with a half-volley.
Chances abounded for Tenby and they were virtually encamped in the Saundersfoot half, but they just could not convert the 15 or so goal-scoring chances that they created in this first-half; much credit going to the visitors' 'keeper who pulled off a string of fine saves.
The second-half was a continuation of the first-half and Ashley Murdoch scored his first goal of the season after a fine run. Prior completed his hat-trick to make it 6-0. Walters made it 7-0 after Prior had sensibly played a square ball to him across the face of the goal leaving the 'keeper stranded and an empty net gaping.
Walters completed a well-deserved hat-trick 10 minutes from time, and Fleming scored his third of the season, his previous two goals coming from the fixture between these two teams earlier in the season.
Mark Davies nearly scored for Saundersfoot against his old club when he cleverly chipped Danny Harries in the Tenby goal, but the magic of Ben Messenger's boot helped him volley the ball off the line in true Ronaldo fashion. Prior scored his fourth and Tenby's 10th goal two minutes from time.
Tenby team: Danny Harries, David Saunders, Ben Messenger, Matthew Fleming, Clem Boswell, Jamie Robinson, Damian Walters, Ashley Murdoch, David Jones, Ashley Prior.
CAMROSE U16s 2
TENBY U16s 2
They say lightning doesn't strike twice, but it certainly did for the Tees-R-Us sponsored Tenby Under 16s last week.
They week before they conceded a goal at Johnston within the opening 60 seconds and repeated it again, last week, this time to Camrose. An innocuous back pass by David Otton to his goalkeer, Lewis Hurlow, took a cruel bounce off a divot, completely wrong-footing Hurlow, and the ball just trickled inside the far post.
Moments later, a Camrose shot took a wicked deflection off Dan Cope, again wrong-footing Hurlow, but he recovered quick enough this time to push the ball wide of the upright.
The Seasiders then settled down and played some neat football, with Bruce Tasker, Perry Broadhurst and Jack Christopher all going close. However, they did draw level after 20 minutes when David Otton's through ball found Christopher, who turned his opponent before sending a pin-point cross to Tasker at the far post to head home.
Tenby at this stage were now enjoying the majority of the spoils, but unfortunately lost the services of Sonny Perkins with a shoulder injury and was duly replaced with Matthew Birch. Birch almost put the visitors ahead shortly after coming on, but his shot was just the wrong side of the post, and with half-time looming, a low cross from Broadhurst was eventually turned in by Tasker from six yards out.
In the second half, Tenby had to defend the slight slope and Camrose put Mo Sofan, captain Darren Taylor, Dan Cope and Ben Field-Thomas under severe pressure.
However, they put up a stubborn resistance, with Field-Thomas excelling at left back, his strong tackling and powerful runs getting Tenby out of trouble on numerous occasions.
This half was fairly even, with both sides having similar chances. For the red and blacks, Birch, Tasker and Lloyd Wilson all had attempts well saved, while at the other end, Hurlow and a Field-Thomas goal line clearance kept Camrose at bay.
Ten minutes from time Camrose equalised from a corner and, although a draw was probably the fairest result, Tenby almost snatched a victory right at the death when Broadhurst's shot flashed across the goal face.
Tenby team: L. Hurlow, M. Sofan, D. Cope, D. Taylor, B. Field-Thomas, P. Broadhurst, L. Wilson, D. Otton, S. Phillips, B. Tasker, J. Christopher, L. Robson, M. Birch, S. Jenkins.
GIRLS FOOTBALL
Last Sunday saw the final week of the Girls Indoor League.
All of Tenby's teams finished off in fine form, winning five out of the six matches.
UNDER 14s: The 14s played Goodwick A and won 2-0, with Kaylie Davies and Annie Davies scoring the goals. Jenna Wright controlled the defence and worked well with her sister Lauren in goal. Young Danielle Jones, stepping up an age group to help out the side, played really well.
In their second match they won comfortably with three excellent goals, one from Kaylie, one from Annie and a lovely long low shot from Danielle.
The girls were very unlucky in their third game. They had most of the possession against Johnston, but could not score. Johnston just nicked a goal in the last few seconds against the run of play.
Team - Lauren Wright, Jenna Wright, Kaylie Davies, Annie Davies (capt), Danielle Jones.
UNDER 12s: The Tornadoes all played well in their game against Prendergast. They beat them 1-0 for the first time in the competition, with Sophie John scoring the goal.
Chantelle Johnson played well in goal, with Emma Griffiths playing her heart out in defence.
Joanna Rowe and Holly Cloake ran well to support Sophie John and Becca Mearns.
In their last game they beat Saundersfoot 4-1, with Holly 2, Joanna and Sophie scoring for Tenby.
Team - Chantelle Johnson, Emma Griffiths, Becca Mearns, Joanna Rowe, Holly Cloake, Sophie John.
UNDER 10s: The Tigers only had one game left to play and they came away 1-0 winners against Pembroke Bora. Ellen Thomas made a superb save in goal to keep Tenby in the game and Sophie Izzard slotted well in defence. Bethan Osborne tackled like a little terrier and Natalie Johnson and Nia Thomas ran well, keeping the pressure on the Boro defence.
Team - Ellen Thomas, Sophie Izzard, Bethan Osborne, Natalie Johnson, Nia Thomas.
The girls now have a well deserved break until January. Thanks to all the parents for their support and for providing transport, and to Ani, Nic and Phil for helping with the training.
CAMROSE U12s 2
TENBY U12s 3
The Tenby Taxis sponsored Under 12 side travelled to Camrose on December 7 for an eagerly-awaited top of the table clash.
Tenby are currently top of this division, with Camrose lying second and only two points behind.
The last meeting between these two teams was only two weeks ago and what a thrilling contest it was, resulting in a 3-3 draw.
Camrose on this occasion were without two of their star players and so Tenby expectations were high.
They started out the brighter of the two sides and with 20 minutes gone Camrose had yet to visit Tenby's half of the field.
Tenby were unlucky not to be well ahead at this stage. The lively Tom Harland was striking terror into the opposition's defence with his speedy, probing runs.
James Maxwell was the first to have his name on the score-sheet with a well-struck shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Shortly after this, Tom Harland was rewarded for his hard work and persistence with a well-taken poacher's goal to put Tenby two-nil ahead.
Tenby continued to dominate, until one minute before the end of the first half when, totally against the run of play Camrose, broke away and claimed their first goal.
At the start of the second half Camrose came out the more determined of the two sides, but were kept at bay by the increasingly impressive back four of William Hughes, James Howes, Mathew Davies and Thomas Nash.
However, it was an uncharacteristic mistake from the Tenby 'keeper, Richard Bridges, that allowed Camrose their second goal.
With the scores level, Tenby found a resurgence of energy and the midfield of Toby Smith, Chris Heesom, Keifer Thomson and Rhys Winter started to exert their authority.
Johnny Lammin was brought on for James Maxwell and Tom Griffin for Tom Harland.
This moved proved incisive and Tenby were unlucky with a couple of near misses. However, it was Toby Smith who produced the 'get out of jail card' with a finely struck shot that gave the Camrose 'keeper no chance.

GOODWICK U12s 0
On Saturday, Tenby Under 12s visited bottom-of-the-table Goodwick.
As was to be expected, Tenby dominated the game, but all credit to the Goodwick team, they continued to battle to the final whistle.
Goals were scored by Toby Smith 3, Keifer Tomson 2, Chris Heesom, James Criddle 2, Tom Griffin and Tom Harland.
Tom Griffin turned in a very impressive display at centre forward and this will prove a dilemma for the selectors prior to next week's crunch game against the formidable Hakin at The Clicketts.
Tenby fielded: Richard Bridges, James Howes, Mathew Davies, Thomas Nash, William Hughes, Keifer Tomson (capt), Toby Smith, Rhys Winter, Chris (Alice's brother) Heesom, Tom Harland, James Maxwell, Johnny Lammin, Tom Griffin and Rob Jones.
SAUNDERFOOT U13s 0
TENBY U13s 6
Tenby U13s made a short journey to play local rivals Saundersfoot.
Both sides were keen to do well, but it was Tenby who opened the scoring after 10 minutes of deadlock, Sam Christopher rifling the ball home after Mikey Boswell played a clever ball through.
Christopher paid back the compliment to Boswell and he made no mistake in putting Tenby 2-0 up.
The score remained this way at half-time, although Tenby had put Saundersfoot under a lot of pressure. Guto Griffiths and Boswell hit the bar and Christopher had several chances after being fed by the midfield duo of Aaron Goldsmith and Adam Johns. Gavin Kinsey had an excellent game in the first half and slotted well into the left-back position to allow Griffiths to push up.
Adam Johns put Tenby 3-0 ahead after Goldsmith's tenacity paid off, winning the ball well. Boswell scored his second, then Michael Halligan scored the goal of the game with a 25-yard screamer that the Saundersfoot goalkeeper barely saw. Halligan was unlucky not to score again when another fine shot hit the bar.
Griffiths scored after a low corner was left by several Saundersfoot defenders. He was also unlucky to be judged to have handled his next goal, which was disallowed by the referee.
As always, Joe Scourfield and Jordan Lloyd were magnificent in the centre of the defence, with Scott Helmich having his usual game. Richard Thomas kept another clean sheet.
Henry Boot came on during the second half and got stuck in well, laying off several good passes.
This was a very good team performance to keep Tenby at the top of the table.
Thanks to Joe Boswell for running the line and all Tenby supporters.
Squad: Richard Thomas, Scott Helmich, Joe Scourfield, Jordan Lloyd, Adam Johns, Aaron Goldsmith (capt), Gavin Kinsey, Michael Halligan, Guto Griffiths, Henry Boot, Mikey Boswell, Sam Christopher.
NARBERTH U10s 1
TENBY U10s 9
The Rumbleway Caravan Park sponsored Tenby Under 10s got off to an unsteady start at Narberth. However, under the watchful eye of captain for the day George Scott and the ever confident Greg Lees-Griffiths, Iwan Osborne and Daniel Edwards, their game settled.
It was some time before a goal came and was nothing more than the visitors deserved. Gareth Warlow was the scorer and he doubled the Seasiders' lead with a second just before half-time.
Tenby came out for the second-half looking a much better side and with Robert Fairlie between the posts the home side had very few chances.
Alex Heesom got two quick goals and Edwards scored with a real cracker. Ashley Smith got his now customary brace and he was greatly assisted by Oliver Worley.
Tenby were awarded a penalty which Smith coolly put away, but the referee ordered it to be retaken, as he wasn't ready, and Smith smashed the second attempt against the post.
Heesom collected his well-deserved hat-trick and the ninth goal went to Philip Horsley, who never stopped running all game! Narberth never gave up and did score a consolation goal for their efforts.
Thanks to Peter Horsley, Chris Smith and the parents for their support and to Narberth for the after-match hospitality.
Tenby fielded: R. Fairlie, G. Lees-Griffiths, I. Osborne, D. Edwards, G. Scott, A. Smith, O. Worley, G. Warlow, A. Heesom.
