Goodwick U14s 2
Tenby U14s 4
After last week's below-par performance, on Saturday the Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions sponsored Tenby Under 14s team travelled to Goodwick looking to get back to winning ways.
The game started off with both teams looking strong and giving nothing away, but Tenby nearly opened their account when Jamie Robinson fired a shot onto the woodwork after a nice through ball from Matthew Jones.
Further efforts from David Jones and Ashley Prior produced good saves from the home 'keeper, while Danny Harries was in fine form at the other end, pushing a strong Goodwick shot way for a corner.
It was from this corner that the homesters opened the scoring, against the run of play. Typically in football, despite Tenby's authority, they went two down after the home-winger escaped Ben Messenger and ran through to score.
It wasn't long before Tenby opened their account after Jones fed the ball through for Prior to score. This was nothing more than Tenby deserved.
The back four of Messenger, James Davies, Damian Walters and David Saunders were strong in the tackle and the work rate and commitment of the whole team was 300 per cent better than the previous week's debacle. M. Jones and Robinson were outstanding in midfield, while Matthew Fleming and Ashley Murdoch were outstanding on both flanks.
The score remained 2-1 at the halfway stage and, despite being down, Tenby always looked capable of taking all three points.
Five minutes into the second half the two Jones' enjoyed a neat exchange between themselves and weaved the ball through to Robinson on the edge of the home 18-yard box, where he unleashed a fierce left foot drive into the roof of the net for the equaliser.
And it was not long before Tenby's pressure told again. When D. Jones made a brilliant run after latching onto a Fleming cross, he jinked past two players before stabbing the ball into the net for Tenby's third.
Five minutes from time, Prior picked the ball up from a Robinson corner and gave the 'keeper no chance for number four.
Well done, Tenby. Let's keep up this good team spirit now and move forward with encouragement from everyone.
Tenby team: Danny Harries, David Saunders, Ben Messenger, James Davies, Damian Walters (capt.), Matthew Fleming, Jamie Robinson, Matthew Jones, Ashley Murdoch, David Jones, Ashley Prior.
PENNAR U13s 3
TENBY U13s 3
Tenby's unbeaten record looked set to fall during the first 15 minutes of this game - a top-of-the-table clash.
With the Tenby side unnerved by their missing kit, Pennar took full advantage and within 15 minutes were 3-0 up against the distraught visitors.
Poor marking and concentration led to their downfall and it took a short sharp shock to wake the boys up.
Towards the latter part of the first half, Tenby got back into the game, hitting the crossbar once and having several shots saved.
This certainly was a game of two halves. Tenby looked a different side from kick-off and good midfield pressure from Aaron Goldsmith anad Adam Johns made several goal scoring chances for forwards Mikey Boswell and Guto Griffiths.
Gavin Kinsey supported Griffiths well and had a hand in a clever move from Johns, which drew the Pennar goalkeeper, allowing Luke Redman an easy tap-in to make the score 3-1.
This goal lifted the Tenby boys and it wasn't long before Dedman took a corner from the right-handside. This was met by a superb header from Boswell to make it 3-2 and put Tenby in with a fighting chance.
Pennar, although back-pedalling, also had scoring opportunities, with Joe Scourfield clearing off the line and Jordan Lloyd tackling well, when left as last time of defence. Brett Evans and Scott Helmich had plenty of work to do and played with wise heads, supporting 'keeper Richard Thomas.
Guto Griffiths scored the equalising goal, much to the relief of the Tenby supporters, and Tenby were unlucky not to win when Boswell headed a good cross inches wide.
This was an very exciting match to watch, with both sides giving a great display of Pembrokeshire football.
Thanks to Nick Johns for running the line.
Team: Richard Thomas, Brett Evans, Scott Helmich, Joe Scourfield, Jordan Lloyd, Aaron Goldsmith (capt.), Adam Johns, Gavin Kinsey, Mikey Boswell, Luke Dedman, Guto Griffiths, Henry Boot, Joel Pendel, Michael Halligan.
GIRLS FOOTBALL
UNDER 12s: Tenby Jays once again met Tenby Tornadoes. This was a very closely fought affair and ended up a goalless draw. Both teams played well and were a credit to Tenby AFC.
In their second match, the Jays put away four goals against Neyland Nomads. Danielle Jones, Anna Doble and Cheek (2) scored the goals.
They were well supported by Victoria Brace and Lucia Fecci in defence. Leila May played in midfield, with Lowri Lewis in goal.
The Tornadoes also met Neyland Nomads. They drew 1-1, with Joanna Rowe scoring the equalising goal.
Once again Emma Griffiths was outstanding in defence, Holly Cloake and Becca Mearns tackled well, with Taylor Field-Thomas and Lucy May supporting the forwards in the numerous attacks.

Johnston U16s 3
"Let's attack and put pressure on them from the start," were the words from coach Dene Hurlow to his Tee-R-Us sponsored Tenby side before they kicked off this Under 16s match. Unfortunately, they got it all wrong and were themselves a goal down within a minute of the start.
Not deterred by this early shock, the Seasiders battled - and battle it was - their way back into the game and were on level terms 10 minutes later, thanks to Jack Christopher.
Christopher, who had an excellent game, doubled the home team's score when he finished off a super move involving David Otton, Lloyd Wilson and Perry Broadhurst.
Liam Robson completed the action in the first half when he volleyed in at the far post and put Tenby two scores clear.
The second started as the first finished, with Tenby on the attack. Bruce Tasker got his name on the score-sheet, slotting one in from a very acute angle and Christopher collected a very well deserved hat-trick.
Tasker was pushed up front, at the expense of Robson, with Ben Quartermaine coming on to fill the vacant left midfield spot, while Mo Safan took over from Broadhurst on the right.
Tasker grabbed two more goals, his long legs outpacing the visiting defence on both occasions.
Although being outplayed at this stage of the game, Johnston never gave up and were rewarded with a penalty after the ball had unluckily struck Dan Cope on the arm. Johnston duly placed the penalty wide of the outstretched Hurlow.
With 10 minutes remaining, Jack Worley was introduced to the midfield, after an injury to Lloyd Wilson left him counting certain parts of his anatomy. With only his first touch of the ball, Worley deftly flicked the it into the path of Christopher, who finished with great aplomb.
Johnston scored a late goal right at the death, but really found the going tough against Tenby's solid back four of Sion Jenkins, Darren Taylor, Ben Field-Thomas and Cope.
Thanks to Alan for officiating and to Jordan and Melissa for their support... remember to wear your thermals next week girls!
Tenby team: L. Hurlow, S. Jenkins, D. Cope, D. Taylor, B. Field-Thomas, P. Broadhurst, L. Wilson, D. Otton, B. Tasker, L. Robson, J. Christopher, M. Sofan, B. Quartermaine, J. Worley.

MONKTON 0
The Tenby Taxis sponsored Under 12s entertained Monkton at a wet and rainy Clicketts in the quarter-finals of the Pembrokeshire Cup.
Tenby started the brighter of the two sides and played some good attacking football.
The midfield of Kiefer Thomson, Rhys Winter, Toby Smith and Chris Heesom linked well together and provided good quality ball for James Maxwell and Tom Harland up front.
Tenby's breakthrough came courtesy of a Toby Smith goal. And, having made all the running, they were unlucky not to be further ahead when the Monkton 'keeper produced a stunning save from a well-struck Maxwell free-kick.
Tenby's back four have gelled well together this season and this game proved to be no exception.
William Hughes made some probing runs and showed good ball control (as did coach Huw Bridges when he came on with the water), Matthew Davies made some strong tackles, and James Howes maintained his recent good form, as did Thomas Nash.
'Keeper Richard Bridges produced a faultless display and coped well with a greasy ball.
The second half started with Tenby having the majority of the possession but unable to find that elusive second score, that was until Heesom took matters into his own hands with a fine individual goal.
Tenby substituted Johnny Lammin for James Maxwell, Rob Jones for James Howes and Tom Griffin for Tom Harland.
Lammin provided that extra impetus that the attack needed which quickly resulted in Tenby's third goal via the boot of Heesom.
Tom Griffin, who usually plays in defence, proved lively at centre forward and Rob Jones was solid at right-back.
Special thanks go to Remi Page, who not only refereed the match to his usual high standard, but also marked out the pitch before the game.
Also thanks to assistant referee Brynley Hughes, whose flag was in such constant use that it departed from its pole (Tenby Football Club have agreed to 'wave' the cost of the damage), and coaches Huw Bridges and Mark Winter.
Tenby fielded: Richard Bridges, William Hughes, James Howes, Mathew Davies, Thomas Nash, Keifer Thomson (capt.), Toby Smith, Chris Heesom, Rhys Winter, Tom Harland, James Maxwell, Robert Jones, Johnny Lammin and Thomas Griffin.

MONKTON SWIFTS U10s 0
The Rumbleway Caravan Park sponsored Tenby Under 10s continued their excellent season with another good win, this time over Monkton Swifts.
A dry but cold morning greeted the players and at times the sun made a rare appearance.
The squad rotation this week allowed Jake Roberts a chance to play in the outfield, and together with Nicholas Hall, Leo Moreland and Rob Fairlie, in between the sticks, proved a formidable defence.
Joe Koop started the scoring for the Seasiders, tucking one in from close range and this was followed by two quick goals by Ashley Smith and Phil Horsley.
The red and blacks are beginning to pass a lot more and this resulted in their fourth goal. A kick out of defence found Curtis Hurlow in midfield. He made ground before picking out Ieuan Williams on the right, whose cross was thumped in by Koop.
Horsley then gave a superb pass to Williams, who had enough time and space to turn and pick his spot inside the near post.
The second half saw the Swifts rally slightly, but they couldn't penetrate the home defence, where Roberts excelled.
Loui Fecci, playing his first game for Tenby, showed good skills and almost scored with a blistering shot which hit the side netting.
Smith and Koop both finished the morning with hat-tricks and Phil Horsley grabbed his second and his side's ninth.
Thanks to Pete for taking up the whistle and the hardy band of fans.
Tenby side: R. Fairlie, J. Roberts, N. Hall, L. Moreland, C. Hurlow, P. Horsley, A. Smith, J. Koop, I. Williams, L. Fecci.
