A Tenby Councillor has urged the Local Authority to ensure that the seaside town’s drains and gullies are unblocked post-summer, with the inevitable stormy season around the corner.
In correspondence sent to Pembrokeshire County Council, Cllr Michael Williams, North ward county councillor stated: “After a prolonged period of hot and dry weather could a concerted effort be undertaken to ensure that the drain's in central Tenby in particular are clear pre the inevitable storm conditions that might follow.
“Many of these drains are full of compacted material and appear blocked.”
Responding, PCC’s Highway Maintenance Manager requested specific locations of the gullies, so it can be arranged for these to be checked and cleaned manually if possible to save downtime with the tanker.
