Members of Tenby Town Council have passed on their best wishes to adventurer Rosie Swale Pope, who broke her hip after slipping on a frozen puddle just after Christmas.
Suffering such a medical drama at the age of 71 for most is seen as a sign that it may be time to take it easy - at least for a little while.
Seventy-one-year-old Rosie, formerly of Tenby, but currently living near her family in Hove and Brighton, embraced the incident and turned to social media in a bid to highlight the fantastic work of staff in the NHS over the festive season, after under going a hip operation at the Princess Royal Hospital.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Trevor Hallett told his fellow members that he had read about Rosie’s plight in the Tenby Observer and Western Mail, before offering his ‘best wishes’ to her on behalf of the council.
The Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, suggested that the town council could send her a get well message via its Facebook page.
Rosie is now on the road to recovery, and even hopes to be able to run again in six weeks, plus make a visit to her beloved Tenby next month.
