A walkabout is to be held in Tenby to discuss potential extensions to the conservation area.
A recent meeting was held at the De Valence Pavilion where representatives from Tenby Town Council and Tenby Civic Society met with the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority’s buildings conservation officer, Rob Scourfield, to discuss a review of area boundaries.
Potential extensions discussed included - South Parade/Jones’ Terrace; Deer Park/Rocky Park/Greenhill Avenue/White Lion Street/Library/Post Office; Harries Street/Church Park/Queens Parade/Silent Battery; St Johns Hill/The Green; Heywood Lane, and the cemetery.
Southcliffe and the area bounded by the Esplanade, Rectory Field, Trafalgar Road and St.Florence Parade were also discussed, along with part of Warren Street and Clareston Road.
The review will also take into account potential for control over traditional forecourts in areas such as Queens Parade and Clareston Road, as well as looking at signage concerns within the town.
The town clerk told members of Tenby Town Council at their meeting on Tuesday night that the walkabout would be arranged with Mr. Scourfield once the weather was a bit more ‘clement’.
