Dinghy blown out to sea

Tenby inshore lifeboat crew rescued two men in an inflatable dinghy which was being blown out to sea off Monkstone Point, last Thursday. The pair, aged 27 and 28, were taken ashore, where they were met by the coastguards and given suitable safety advice.

ILB launched

Tenby inshore lifeboat was launched at approximately 4.30 pm on Saturday after a member of the public reported seeing a catamaran sailing dinghy repeatedly capsizing off South Beach. On arrival at the scene, the crew spoke with people on board the dinghy, who said they were practising and were in no danger.

Search for swimmer

Tenby's two lifeboats, the all-weather RFA Sir Galahad and the inshore craft, together with the coastguard team and coastguard RIB, searched for a swimmer, reported to be in difficulty off the town's South Beach, on Sunday morning. However, after a full search, they found no-one in trouble, and with nobody being reported missing, the search was called off.

Three were fishing

Tenby coastguards were called to Wiseman's Bridge on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon after three people were reported in difficulties 150 metres offshore in a rigid inflatable dinghy. However, when the coastguard spoke to the occupants, they said they were fishing and not in any difficulty.
