Members, friends and guests recently spent a delightful evening celebrating the 50th anniversary of the society with a dinner at the Fourcroft Hotel. The atmosphere was totally vibrant and jovial.
Towards the end of the meal, Mr. Mark Lewis spoke of the time he founded the Junior Civic Society at Greenhill School, Mr. John Beynon read a letter written by Mr. Ivor Jenkins of his childhood years growing up in Tenby and Mr. Anthony Markes spoke of the Friends of Tenby's first meeting. The group later became Tenby Civic Society. The Friends were also involved in the maintenance of Allen's View.
Mr. Markes also toasted the future of the society.
The trip to Colby Lodge House on the afternoon of Saturday, April 18, is now fully booked.
The society's annual general meeting will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 2.30 pm, in Augustus Place Community Centre. Following the agenda items, Mr. Robert Scourfield, National Park conservation officer will speak and answer questions on 'Conservation in Tenby'.
All are welcome to attend or become new members.
