Friday, October 5, saw the launch of the 2007 Tenby Blues Festival (November 9-11), with the announcement that tickets are now on sale for this year's festival. The celebration at Tenby Harbour was attended by members of the Tenby Blues committee as well as two distinguished supporters of the Blues, Nick Ainger MP and Angela Burns AM. Local Blues musician, Al Davey was on hand to provide an impromptu open-air concert to set the scene and create the atmosphere. Tenby will be centre stage for the whole weekend of the festival, which brings together a host of international and national blues musicians with a strong local contingent. Concerts are planned for both the Friday and Saturday night at the de Valence and the FBM stage at Tenby Rugby Club, as well as lunchtime concerts on Saturday and Sunday on the FBM stage, with fantastic headlining acts during the weekend, including the Otis Grand Big Blues Band and the fantastic American Blues man Alvin Youngblood Hart. For the late night music lovers, the Brains Sessions are scheduled at the Fourcroft Hotel on Friday, November 9, and the Giltar Hotel on Saturday, November 10, providing an exclusive after-hours experience. Music for all to enjoy is high on the agenda, with many of Tenby's pubs and clubs having gigs throughout the day on Saturday, November 10, with a staggered programme making up the Pub Circuit. Talks are also available from the legendary Richard Hatterell on the afternoons of Saturday and Sunday, November 10 and 11. Ticket prices range from £2-£15, with a weekend ticket allowing access to all events (excluding the Brains Sessions) costing £50.
