Tenby is making a bid to retain its Wales in Bloom title as the best floral small town in Wales for a record breaking 13th successive year.
Long hailed as the floral seaside resort of Wales, the town has lifted the Wales in Bloom crown more times than any other entrant since the competition began in the 1970s and Tenby Town Council is calling on the local community to once again give as much help as possible to keep the trophy in the town.
"Judging will be some time in July and we urge people to start gearing up for the visit," commented chairman of the town council's gardens committee, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown. "Competition is becoming more fierce every year because we're the town that everyone wants to beat.
"If we all rally round again, as we have done in the past, I know 13 will be a lucky number for us!"
For the last four years, the town council has run a sponsorship programme for town's municipal borders, beds and floral displays. Anyone wishing to sponsor a border, flower bed or floral display this year is asked to contact Tenby Town Council on (01834) 842730.
