Tenby Round Table hosted their fifth beer festival on Friday and Saturday, November 3 and 4.

The event proved to be bigger and better than ever, with record numbers of tickets sold before and at the event. Takings are still being counted, but it is expected that the event will have raised more for charity than ever before.

Doors opened on the Friday night, with many coming in to enjoy music from Sleeping Dogs and West Bound, along with the huge selection of beer, cider and the prosecco bar. For the first year, tickets were available to buy online for the event, with many people taking up the option of buying in advance. The bar was busy all night, with volunteers from Valero providing some much-needed assistance.

Doors opened again at 12 noon on the Saturday, with crowds building as the day went on. In the evening, the event recorded record attendance, with music from Tris Lewis and later The Collective providing the entertainment.

Round Table members working on the bar were supported by staff and volunteers from Friends of Greenhill, who will be receiving 25 per cent of the money made over the event to help support their fundraising.

The event is improved year-on-year, with a new bar and barrel racking all being built by Round Table members in the weeks leading up to the event. The event also has a new logo, created by Joe Worden, of Heart Designs, which took pride of place on the new event glasses which were generously sponsored by the Qube group.

Tenby Round Table chairman, Matthew Broadhurst, commented following the event: “It was an amazing event this year and I’m pleased to say the event is just getting better and better. I’d like to say a huge thank you to our organising committee of Jon Webb, Joost Geertman, Dan Cope, Adam Uka and Ed Spence for all of their work before, during and after the event, along with all our members and volunteers who gave up their time to make the event a success. But mostly, I’d like to thank everyone who came to the event and supported us, we look forward to welcoming you again next year!”

Tenby Round Table’s next event is the Santa Run on Saturday, December 2 - full details and registration can be found at www.facebook.com/TenbySantaRunRT
