New designs for Tenby's new RNLI lifeboat station were given the thumbs up by Tenby Town Council this week.

The new £3 million building on the town's Castle Hill is to house one of the RNLI's new generation of FSB2 sea-going lifeboats, but the design has been under discussion for some time, given its prominent location.

At the last meeting of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, planning officer Mr. John Griffiths revealed that the Park and the RNLI had come up with a design which was agreeable to both parties.

When the new design came before the town council on Tuesday night, members were supportive of a sketch of the new design.

"I move approval," commented Clr. Trevor Hallett.

"I second and look forward to seeing the full design specifications," agreed Clr. Andrew Rees.
