Tenby and District Soroptimists held a business meeting of the Southcliff Hotel, home of member Pam, on Tuesday, February 17. p

President Dilys opened the meeting with two minutes silence in memory of Dr. Olga Ryland.

Before the business commenced, Victoria Smathers, of the De Valence Trust, gave a short talk on her hopes and plans for future activities. She welcomed all ideas on events that would be of interest to local people of all ages and gave an insight into what she was hoping to achieve.

The meeting then commenced. Judy reported on the regional meeting at Aberavon, which was attended by Dylis, Jenny and Judy. The club had held its first book club meeting on Wednesday, February 11, at the home of member Joan, and this had been a very interesting evening. Several members had attended the Inner Wheel quiz at the Bowling Club.

The Soroptimist quiz is on March 3 at the South Cliff Hotel, Tenby. Anyone wishing to book a table, please telephone secretary Sonya on (01834) 813147.

Final plans were discussed for the United International Women's Day celebration with the Guides and members and guests on Sunday, March 8, at the Scout and Guide Hall, Warren Street, Tenby.

Eiona went through arrangements for the annual charity lunch on Sunday, March 15, at Heywood Mount Hotel, when the guest speaker would be Federation president, Carwen Wynne Howells. Proceeds will go to Project Sierra and Paul Sartori.

The next meeting will be the quiz night.
