The last meeting for 2010 was a social morning with no speaker, but a few observations on Christmas Past from various members. Included in the mix were a few jokes and unrelated observations.

The president, Darrel John, was indisposed, so we lacked his normal oratory direction for the morning, but Arthur Squibbs struggled manfully to maintain order in the ranks.

The only anniversary boy was Tom Hughes and all best wishes were expressed to him for a good birthday on December 25.

The club would like to express all the very best seasonal greetings to their many friends and families at this festive time of the year.

It was nice to see so many people at the Christmas lunch and thanks go to the Broadmead Hotel for their hospitality.

Congratulations were given to both Bertie Brace and his wife Thelma on the occasion of their diamond wedding anniversary. Well done to both these young people!

Someone said that when Darrel recovers from his current indisposition he would come back 'a new man', but everyone quite liked the old one, so make it back soon!

The next meeting is on January 5, 2011, when Darrel will be speaker for the morning. Why not ring Lew Day on 844633 for further information.
