A couple of dates for your diaries: The next Ladies Day is on Wednesday, April 29, when the club will have a slide talk on the Antarctic, followed by a wine and cheese buffet.
Then it is the five-day visit to the Peak District which is a confirmed trip, this is on Thursday, June 4. To be followed by a day trip to Aberaeron and Llanerchaeron on Wednesday, July 29. This trip is still to be organised, coach etc.
Then there is the Christmas lunch, which will be held on Wednesday, December 2, at a venue to be decided.
No excuse now for missing any of these events.
The club meeting on Wednesday, February 18, was a little short on members, but a good time was had by those present.
Congratulations were expressed to Arthur on his forthcoming birthday.
Speaker for the morning was Tom Peake. What an adventurous life he has led, both in and out of the senior service. One day he gave a talk on deep sea diving and he has now followed this by a talk on helicopters stationed at Castlemartin in which he played a prominent role. The highs and the lows of military life. Well done, Tom, a most interesting talk.
The next meeting is on Wednesday, March 4, when the speaker will be Wilf Hardy. Call Lew Day on 844633 for more information.
