The first meeting in May saw the return of the members from their Irish holiday all relaxed, fit and well. The president was regaled with stories of the trip and he is already organising a short break in 2009. More of this later. Anniversary boys for the morning were Billy Russell on May 13, Ian Paxton on May 16 and Harold James on that morning. This ensured that the meeting would finish with alcoholic beverage supplied by Harold. The three birthday boys were toasted. The secretary told the members of his trip to St. Fagan's Museum with the Saundersfoot Probus Club. It was a very enjoyable occasion. The trip to Brecon on July 30 is coming together well and more information will be posted to members and friends at the end of this month. Speaker for the morning was Wilf Hardy who told of a massive explosion and fire which took place in Bombay in February 1944. This whole episode was kept under wraps. Wilf was lucky as he had been serving on the ship that exploded just prior to its last run. The president is planning a Ghost Walk in Tenby on June 25 meeting at 7.50 pm outside the Lifeboat Tavern in Tudor Square. Make a note in your diary. The next meeting is on May 21 when the speaker will be Tony Webster. Ring Lew Day on 844633 for information on any of the events taking place.
