Tenby and District club members took part in the Great Britain simultaneous pairs fund-raiser on Wednesday, January 14. Participating were 2,031 pairs from six countries. First results uploaded were from the Birch Club at 11.44 pm. This was a toughie, our members not quite cracking the code, if there was one?
Results (national position in brackets), a 10-table Mitchell, North/South: 1. Jill and John O'Sullivan 60.42 per cent (206); 2. Carmel Wiseman and Graham Hadlow 59.26 (381); 3. Margaret Davies and Newman Vincent 55.47 (439). East/West: 1. Derek Earle and Malcolm Gunning 60.65 (96); 2. Liz Crockford and Kevin Thomas 57.18 (161); 3. Peter Milewski and Colin Nash 54.63 (424).
Friday, January 16, was a five-table Howell movement: 1. Denzil and Kevin Thomas 67.13; equal 2. Maureen Poole and Sue Batten with Nicky Hancock and Sue Enfield 55.56; 4. Jo Davies and Mary Jones 52.78.
