The meeting of Tenby and District Camera Club last week was a judging night for the panels competition.
For this competition, members were invited to submit five images, to compose a panel which are then judged as a whole.
This year, there was a good number of entries for both the print section and for the digital image section.
Judge for the evening was Les Loosemore, an old friend of the club. He had an interesting selection of print panels to judge.
From the first panel, 'Forbidden Fruit', featuring an apple, to the next, colourful images of Irish buildings, on to the fun of the fair, to a selection of architecture images, travel, and sports, there was a high standard of photography.
The judge particularly liked three panels, and after deliberations, Mr. Loosemore awarded the following places: 3. The Maldives by David Lewis; 2. Out of the Shadows by Paul Richards; 1. On a Bender by Harry Gardiner.
After a break for refreshments, he moved on to view the digital images.
Once again, there was a high standard of work to be viewed. Each participant had provided a template to show how the panel should be viewed.
After much discussion of the different panels, Mr. Loosemore awarded the winners: 3. Woody Nightshade by Harry Gardiner; 2. Waders by Andrew Baxter; 1. Holly by Roy Packer.
The results of the acceptances for the Swansea International Salon have been announced and many of the members have had acceptances. Several have been awarded Highly Commended, and Gillian Mackay has been awarded judges certificate.
The club is delighted to hear about these successes, which helps to increase our profile in the international circuit, and congratulations are extended to all members who have been successful.
The next meeting will be a talk by Lyndon Lomax, of the Pembrokeshire Bird Group, entitled Three Trips and the Most Northerly.
