Members had the say last week for a picture selection evening at the Tenby and District Camera Club. Everyone was invited to bring up to four images on a CD for selection for future external club competitions.
Members, in a packed hall, enjoyed viewing each other's images, and hearing the comments and explanations about how the image had been created by the author.
After a break for refreshments, ably provided by 'Mick the Tea' and helpers, the viewing resumed.
External competition secretary Roy Peters was delighted with the standard of the images, and with a few suggestions for enhancements here and there, he feels that he will have some good images for the pool of photographs available for external competitions.
This has already proved invaluable, as the club took part in the Brian Jennings Memorial Trophy at Trostre Camera Club on Monday last week, and won! This competition was between eight South Wales clubs. Tenby scored a total of 108 points, with two images scoring the top score of 20 points. The club was the only one to achieve the top scores. The top scoring images were 'Arctic Tern in Flight' by Jill Baxter, and 'Kingfisher - Take Off' by Paul Richards.
Next week's meeting is print critique night on February 5. The aim of the evening is for members to bring along a maximum of four images (print or projected) for a constructive appraisal by the club's own judges. This will be done on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
Everyone is welcome to join the club and for further information, please see http://www.tenby-camera-club.co.uk">www.tenby-camera-club.co.uk.
