This week's meeting at the Tenby and District Camera Club was split into two events. Some members travelled to Carmarthen for an inter-club competition, while others took part in a workshop at St. Florence Village Hall. The news has just come through that Tenby won the competition, and four images gained the maximum 20 points, so well done to all competitors. One of the recent events at the Camera Club, was a talk, entitled 'The Other Side of Mr. Christmas', given by Ron Powell, BA, HND, ARPS. Ron is a good friend to the club, as he prepares and presents the Christmas quiz each year, with photos of well known local landmarks, taken from unusual angles. On this occasion, however, he came to show some of his black and white work. Some recent club successes have been achieved, and congratulations are due to Roy Peters, who has won the Rollei Trophy for the Best Projected Image, at the Welsh Salon of Photography, for his image entitled 'Surfer', and also to all the members who have had acceptances of their work into the Salon. Congratulations are also due to David Warren, who has won the Best Young Photographer award at the Salon. The Welsh Salon of Photography is will be on display in the Pierhead Building, Cardiff Bay, during April. The summer season will commence in May, and the next meeting will be on May 8, when Judge Les Loosemore ARPS, AWPF will give a talk about entering for APRS and AWPF distinction panels.
