Wednesday, January 30, saw the completion of our club's winter 'Teams' event, which proved to be very popular to say the least (writes B. B.). Would you believe 12 tables in play, 48 hardy bridge players braved the wintry conditions. It was played in three sessions through January. As usual, the cream came to the top. Playing for the 'Winter Teams Cup 2008', the winners were Nicky Hancock and Peter Oeppen with Carmel Wiseman and Graham Hadlow +164. Second were Jill and John O'Sullivan with Colin Nash and Peter Milewski +129, while third were Margaret Davies and Brenda Harris with Christine Wilson and Denzil Evans +73 The end of our club's year is approaching (end of March) and any potentially talented organisers in our membership are encouraged to help steer our fairly successful enterprise on to even greater heights. Any worthy suggestions for improvement are welcome. Watch the noticeboard. Six tables were in play on Friday, February 1. It was a great evening and results were: 1. Tina Torkington and Rosie Taylor 64.81 per cent; 2. Coral Jones and Irene Warlow 63.33; 3. Marnie Owens and Denzil Evans 59.26; 4. Gladys Irvine and Bert Barnikel 54.44. Duplicate bridge is played twice weekly at the Kilgetty Community Centre, Wednesday at 7 pm and Friday at 6.30 pm. New members and visitors are always welcome.
