There was an excellent attendance at St. Teilo's Church Hall, Tenby, to listen to Julie Morgan MP on Saturday.

Many participated in the high quality debate which resulted from questions asked by members. Julie Morgan gave very frank answers regarding the current all-party expenses fiasco. She left her audience in no doubt of her left of centre views.

She gave an interesting account of her work on Overseas Aid in Malawi and Kenya stressing that a problem cannot be solved until you have actually seen it.

At home in Britain, she drew attention to various issues, including the improvements in the quality of children's lives due to the government tax credits and child benefit increases.

There were also questions on the much-needed reform of the banking system in order to avoid a repeat of the 2008 disaster and the subsequent recession.

Julie Morgan MP congratulated the Tenby branch on their strength and enthusiasm which would be greatly needed in the 12 months ahead leading up to the general election in 2010.

She hoped that the result of next month's Euro Elections would see a positive result.

Chairman Tony Wales thanked the speaker and those present for making it such an excellent meeting.

Will Rossiter and a young visitor from Bristol Grammar School won the raffle prizes.

The next meeting will be at St. Teilo's Church Hall, Tenby, on Saturday, June 20. Coffee will be served from 10.45 am.
