A concert by Tempus, Pembrokeshire's vibrant young mixed choir, at St. Mary's Church, Tenby, last week has been hailed an outstanding success. The group hit all the high notes as they raised the magnificent sum of almost £600 for HOPE, the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Neyland. The big enthusiastic audience gave a standing ovation at the concert last Tuesday which made £572.10 for the charity to help with its work in providing Hyperbaric Oxygen treatment for all those people with MS who need that type of therapy, and to maintain a centre where those people, their carers and friends can meet in comfortable surroundings for social activities. The Tempus vocal group is a dynamic new group of vocalists and instrumentalists who perform an eclectic variety of music with energy and flair. Under their musical director Seimon Morris, who has been teaching music in Pembrokeshire for 20 years, they enjoy introducing new works to their audiences, as well as giving well-known pieces a fresh interpretation. At this concert, which also featured soloists Ezme Randall  and Jess Cale, they performed works by Gorecki, Handel and Karl Jenkins, but their versatility also saw them sing lively gospel and pop classics, including Dancing Queen, Hail Holy Queen and a medley from the Phantom of the Opera. Tempus will be performing on September 19 in St. Mary's Church, Haverfordwest, when they wll be accompanied by Concerto Gallese for an evening of Venetian sacred music.
