AFTER the huge success of the festival in September, Tenby Arts Festival committee are pleased to invite their Friends and supporters - and all lovers of good music - to a special fund-raising event organised in conjunction with Seimon Morris, Pembrokeshire's well-known and talented composer, musician and music tutor.

Tempus is a choir of enthusiastic and talented musicians which was formed in September 2001. The beautiful, candle-lit, 11th century Monkton Priory, with its wonderful acoustics, will be the setting for their next concert on Saturday, November 23, at 7.30 pm.

Anyone who was fortunate enough to hear them sing at St. Peter's, Goodwick, St. Mary's, Pembroke, St. Michael's, Bosherston, or at Scolton Manor will know how Tempus bring high standards, vitality and passion to a whole range of musical repertoire - from medieval to modern-day.

Tempus includes a children's section which is an integral part of Seimon's vision for a unique quality of choral singing which combines the freshness and flexibility of young voices with the mature quality and musical interpretation of adult voices, making a lively, vibrant, and above all, enjoyable style of performance.

The programme for this evening's event - titled 'Festival of Peace' which would seem very apt given the tensions between nations at the moment, especially at this time leading up to Christmas when we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace - will include: Poulenc's Motets, Finzi's In Terra Pax, Karl Jenkin's A Celebration of Christmas, Carols by Tavener, and Gospel songs. Also performing will be Valves and Slides, a brass quartet from Milford Haven; and guest soloists for the evening will be Kathryn Shewry (contralto) and Katherine Haworth (cello), both well-known and respected musicians.

This is an event not be be missed!
