Rowan class have also had the privilege of receiving additional hockey tuition during the term.

The five-week 'Introduction to hockey' course was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children who are now keen to put their newly developed skills into practice. Thanks must go to 'Sport Pembrokeshire' for organising the initiative and in particular to Mrs. Brenda Scourfield who delivered the training to the children.

AUTHOR'S VISIT

The children of Years 5 and 6 were lucky enough to receive a visit from local author Sharon Tregenza.

The children sat and listened whilst Ms. Tregenza read to them from her book 'Tarantula Tide' and then spent lots of time in a question and answer session with them.

All the children found the visit enthralling and very inspiring and would like to thank the author for the time she spent with them and for signing their bookmarks for them.

CRUCIAL CREW TRAINING

Pupils at Templeton School were visited recently by the 'Crucial Crew' team.

Co-ordinated by Pembrokeshire County Council's Road Safety Unit, and sponsored by South Hook LNG with support from PowerSafe, 'Crucial Crew' teaches Year 6 pupils from across the county how to deal with various potential dangers and hazards.

The children are pictured learning first aid techniques with the Welsh Ambulance Trust and gaining first-hand experience of moving in a confined space with the Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade.
