At the March meeting of the Community Council of Templeton, held in the Church Hall, a letter was received from Calor informing the council of their 'Village of the Year' competition. It was decided to pass this on to Templeton Community Association. The Welsh Assembly had sent a burial ground survey asking for information regarding all the burial sites within the parish. The clerk was asked to pass on these forms to Templeton Church, Templeton Chapel and Molleston Chapel. Pembrokeshire County Council had written to inform the council of the forthcoming road improvements they intend to carry out on Tanners Lane and the road from Cross Hands to Templeton.

Planning

There were no objections to the following planning applications: Extension to dwelling - Ty Melyn, Cold Blow; swimming pool/living room extension - Rowlands View, Narberth; one dwelling - land rear of Cliff Gates, Cold Blow Road, Templeton; proposed conversion of outbuilding - Maes-y-coed, Molleston - passed; extension to bungalow - 1 Picton Close, Templeton - passed.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Clrs. E. Morse and N. Griffiths asked the council to support the families of several children who had been denied free transport to Ysgol Dyffryn Taf, Whitland. The council suggested the clerk write to overturn this decision by the Education Authority to the following people - Nick Ainger, Christine Gwyther and Gerson Davies (Director of Education). Clr. J Phillips told the council that the recycling facility on the airfield would be up for appeal to the Welsh Assembly and asked if the council could write a letter to the Assembly to reinforce their previous decision to reject this application. Clr. P. Williams suggested that after Templeton AFC had decided to discontinue playing, the trustees were to be invited to a council meeting to discuss the future of the playing field. The clerk was asked to write once again to the county council to find out their plans for the bus shelter/toilet block. A resident of Kensington Flats had approached Clr. L. Belt to see if the community council would have more success with the county council to have the exterior of the flats painted as the residents had been refused. The date of the next meeting was set for Thursday, April 21, in the Church Hall at 8 pm.
