HM Coroner for Pembrokeshire has opened an inquest into the sudden death of a teenager in the county.

Seventeen-year-old Callum Marcus Lewis, of Tenby, died on Friday night.

A spokesman for Dyfed Powys Police, said: "Following reports of a missing person in the Tenby area, officers discovered the body of a 17-year-old male in the town on Friday night. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

"Prior to the discovery of the body, the coastguard and a search and rescue helicopter from RAF Kinloss assisted in the search that included the Tenby town and the South Beach areas."

A student at Pembrokeshire College, ND media production tutor, Chris Rees described Callum as "an outstanding student, not only in personality and contribution to the group, but also very strong academically".

Mr. Rees added: "I was shocked and saddened to hear the news about Callum's untimely death.

"He was an incredibly popular student with both tutors and his fellow students.

"He was always extremely friendly and enthusiastic, with a sense of humour that made him instantly likeable.

"He will be very much missed at the college, and we will all miss his happy and cheerful presence in class.

"Callum was a student who had so much going for him; I can't speak highly enough of him.

"As a college we are deeply saddened by his loss and are working through our learner services team to support staff and students."

It is understood Mr. Lewis's funeral will be taking place in the Swansea area.
