Stuart, Dan and Joe of Team McDermott and Sons wish to sincerely thank friends, colleagues and local businesses for all the support given to their successful completion of the Monte Carlo or Bust Champagne Charlie Rally in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Much to their delight, The Ford ‘Moo-deo’, bought for £300 as part of the banger rally entry requirements, successfully completed her 2,340-mile round trip from Saundersfoot to Monte Carlo and back, which took in stop-offs at Saint Quentin, Dijon, Lake Geneva, Turin and Nice, without any issues whatsoever.

The total amount raised so far for Alzheimer’s Research UK is £2,819.04 and the family would like to say a special thanks to Pro Waste, Dragon Palace, of Pentlepoir, Angharad Thomas Photography, Valero and HSBC for their support in making the whole event happen.

The family were inspired to support dementia research after Stuart’s father, Terry McDermott, who was diagnosed with vascular dementia, sadly passed away in 2015. The rally has been one of many fund-raising ideas thought up by grandson Dan since his passing and there are plans for further fund-raising events in the years to come - watch this space!
