Michael Butcher, who has been a full-time lecturer in Equine studies at the Pembrokeshire College for the past 18 years, has accepted an invitation to become the Disabled Riders head coach of showjumping in Great Britain.
Michael, of Charles Street, Milford Haven, has, over the years, developed a keen interest in coaching riders with disabilities.
Ed Bracher, chief executive of RDA, said: "I asked Mike to take this role upon himself due to his extensive knowledge of RDA and with his wide experience in showjumping generally.
"As an educationalist we also felt that his background in developing training and learning systems would help bring clarity to the pathway that we needed for both the RDA centres and the riders."
