Mr. Jones, our headmaster, says that all the children have settled in well in their new classes (writes Edward Phillips, George Griffiths, Heidi Wynn and Samantha Done)
A few months ago some builders came to build a playground for the children of Tavernspite School.
Netball: We played away at Templeton. The A team won 17-5 and the B team won 2-0. The girls really enjoyed the matches. Mrs. Emanuel said that they played really well.
Urdd: Mr. Eurfyl Lewis is coming to talk to the Juniors about the youth organisation called the Urdd. This year we would like more children to become members of the Urdd, so that we can take part in Urdd activities such as football, swimming, singing, folk dancing and competitions. The children who went to Llangrannog to the Urdd camp last year had a wonderful time.
Year 4: Year 4 went swimming at Narberth Swimming Pool because Class 6 were on a school trip.
Early years: The little children have settled in very well and they are enjoying the school a lot. The early years were the first to go on the amazing adventure playground, they enjoyed it a lot. Early years have had 12 new children.
Class 1 and 2: The children in class 1 and 2 are doing a 'Tir a Mor' project for waste and recycling. They went to Penderry Farm which is in the Tir Gofal scheme. They went looking for signs of autumn and did some drawings and some collages.
Class 6: Seven children went to football at Templeton School. The score was 6-1 to Templeton. The B team lost 2-1. Tavernspite scored three tries in the rugby match. Thomas Rees scored two tries and Iwan Bowen Rees scored one try.
They also went to Scolton Manor, where they learnt about growing plants and healthy eating. They put on a play about evacuees with the help of Emily from Sheffield. They learnt about rationing in the World War II.
