Last Saturday, the Tiger Challenge and Rabbits Hubbards Trophies were contested. In the 0-15 Division, M. Ansell came home in first place with a creditable 35 points, followed by R. Davies second with 33 and R. Preece with 32. The 16-24 Division had a resounding winner in G. Longster with 40 points and so incurred a handicap reduction of three shots for a new handicap of 21. Second was Ken Badham on 32 and Graham Harrison was third with 31. No twos were recorded in either competition, so onward to tomorrow (Saturday) where there will be an 18-hole stableford off the yellow tees. Entry lists are on the noticeboards in the lounge above the locker rooms. The Pro Shop is now the new 19th hole and I'm sure many a tale of golf will be told over a nice cool pint of beer. G. H.

Ladies section: Trefloyne Ladies enjoyed a Lady Captain's Fun Day on Tuesday, August 10, attended by both full and country members. Prizes were won by Caroline Fletcher, Linda Kromrei, Liz Crockford, Wendy Derrick, Vicky Burks and Heather Thorne. A marquee was kindly supplied by the new owners of Trefloyne Golf Club, Kim and Joan Beynon. Grateful thanks to both Sarah and Tom Beynon for all their hard work. A cold buffet was enjoyed by all, including the wasps! The lady captain, Dorrit Parry, looks forward to welcoming new lady members to Trefloyne, where they can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome. There is a Texas Scramble being held on Sunday, August 29, in aid of Breast Cancer. Ladies, if you have not already done so, please put your names down. The list is in the new pro shop; it is open to full and country members.
