Swansea University are presenting an evening of the poetry of Dylan Thomas and the history of famous post-war figures such as Aneurin Bevan. It is at the Community Learning Centre in Tenby on Wednesday, March 4. This Welsh Cultural evening will include cawl and Welsh cakes and the evening, which commences at 5.30 pm and lasts until 8 pm, is completely FREE.

It will include readings of Dylan's poetry by Peter Thabit Jones, who has recently toured USA lecturing on his works.

This is part of Swansea University's Adult Education programme, working in partnership with the Pembrokeshire Learning Network, which is to be delivered in Tenby and Haverfordwest for the first time this year. It includes a unique part-time degree programme starting in September at the Community Learning Centre, Greenhill Avenue, Tenby.

The degree has run successfully in Narberth and Pembroke Dock for the first time this year. It is taught by Swansea University staff in the student's own communities. It is open to anyone over the age of 19 who, because of work, family or other commitments, are not able to embark on full-time study. Prospective students do not usually need formal qualifications such as A levels. Many are also eligible for full or partial support to cover course fees, travel, books and childcare. For many students the course can actually be FREE.

A FREE preparatory eight-week course will also be available from April 2009 in Tenby and in other Pembrokeshire venues in Narberth, Pembroke Dock and Haverfordwest. This is a chance to see if a degree is right for the individual student. Free impartial career advice is also made available.

Information will be available at the Welsh Cultural evening. Alternatively, more information and an explanatory brochure are available.
