Marine conservation campaigners Surfers Against Sewage has issued a warning for Saundersfoot’s seas after reports that sewage has been discharged into the water over the past 48 hours.

The group that monitors water quality at over 400 river and coastal locations has reported that storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in the seaside village within the past 48 hours.

Surfers against Sewage stated: “Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location within the past 48 hours.

“A beautiful, sandy expanse of gently sloping sand, backed by a shingle ridge with Saundersfoot harbour at the southern end. Discharges from sewer overflows can occur nearby and affect water quality, especially after heavy rainfall.”
