St. Govan's coastguard rescue team assisted ambulance personnel in the medical evacuation of a male surfer, from Freshwater West to Withybush Hospital, shortly after 12.30 on Saturday.

The casualty, a 19-year-old Belgian national, had suffered a facial injury sustained by having been hit in the eye by the point of a surfboard.
