Sir,

May we, through you columns express our heartfelt gratitude for the presentation of £4,500 to the Aimee Trust Fund from the Kilgetty Christmas Lights Appeal. This amount will be held in the Trust until such time as Aimee is well enough, hopefully, to go on a holiday to Lapland.

The fantastic display of lights by the residents of St. Mary's Place and surrounding houses attracted people from all over the country and the kindness, generosity and support given to Quacks and to Aimee's Fund is hard to express in words.

We would like to congratulate Uncle Peter and Aunty Audrey on winning the HTV award, which was richly deserved, and to thank Uncle Ellis and Aunty Valerie for donating the balance of £124 to make the total collection £9,000.

We cannot thank everyone enough for all the contributions made to Aimee's Fund during the past 18 months, it has been overwhelming.

When we received the call in the early hours of Sunday morning that a kidney was available, we rushed to Bristol and Aimee underwent a kidney transplant later that afternoon. The operation went well and Aimee is making good progress and hopefully will make a full recovery. Throughout her illness she has been so tolerant and since the operation is determined to get better and be able to come home as soon as possible. She makes everyone around her feel so humble.
