Throughout the year Lawrenny Yacht Club has been raising money for the RNLI. A sponsored water ski by members on New Year's Day and a sponsored haircut by Barry McBean were two novel ways of generating funds, as well as the traditional, well-supported fete on Regatta Day.

At the club's Annual Dinner and Dance, held in the Giltar Hotel, Tenby, on November 22, Commodore Vince Price was delighted to announce a grand total of £1,116.60. He presented a cheque to Mrs. Jacqui Lintern, wife of the yacht club's president Tom Lintern, who is a member of Pembroke Ladies' Lifeboat Guild.

The Pembroke Guild, which met on November 24, heard from the treasurer that takings from a recent coffee morning amounted to £429.38. It was at this juncture that Jacqui Lintern announced the wonderful contribution from Lawrenny Yacht Club and presented the cheque to Guild chairman, Mrs. Viv Kerrison.

This has now brought the total sent to RNLI headquarters by the Guild this financial year to the excellent sum of £9,107.38, reflecting the generosity of local people.

Pembroke Ladies' Guild's next fund-raising event is a Christmas Party at Corston House this Sunday, December 7, and tickets are virtually sold out for this popular function. The new year will offer another chance to support the Lifeboats when an Old Tyme Music Hall is held in the spring.
