Thousands of tide watchers hit the beaches and estuaries from Loughor to Pendine to see one of the highest tide’s of year on Carmarthenshire’s coast.

Combining with the super moon it allowed for tremendous one-off photographic opportunities on Sunday evening.

There was added interest with flocks of many thousands of feeding migratory birds pushed up by the tides adding to the chorus heralding the natural phenomenon.

County executive board member for tourism, Clr. Meryl Gravell, said: “Carmarthenshire’s small, but beautiful coast is hugely popular and many were taking advantage of this extraordinary occasion.

“There were thousands of families out in glorious weather from Bynea to Pendine. It was a difficult call to make where to go for the best photographic record of the occasion.”
