The glorious sunshine on Thursday produced a strong turnout of 12 Nordic Walkers at Regency Hall in Saundersfoot. Brian led them along the Coast Path towards Wiseman’s Bridge. Coming out of the last of the three tunnels, they were delighted by the coastal panorama sparkling in the sunshine. At Wiseman’s Bridge they headed up the Dramway towards Stepaside. Well warmed up by now, they powered past the Heritage Park, then up the hill to Grove Colliery. They continued down the back steps to rejoin the Dramway and retrace their steps to Saundersfoot. Some stayed for lunch, with bacon rolls a firm favourite as usual.

On Saturday the weather was once again very sunny. 38 cheerful walkers gathered at Battery Gardens. Monica backed by Chris, led the Speedies via the Green and Haytor Gardens to the fields above Seascape. From the top of the field they enjoyed the glorious view across the town towards Caldey Island and Giltar Head. The Steadies were led by Barbara and backed by Marlene. They introduced some novelty by going around a very familiar walk the opposite way to usual. Heading through the town to reach the seafront via White Lion Street, They turned left to Butts Field via the Croft. From there they went through the Glebe and Park Road to finish in the South Parade. By that time the Speedies had completed their lap of the field and continued via the M1 and the town cemetery. Reaching the Narberth Road they walked to the heart attack steps for a lap of the beach to finish. Everyone went home happy, looking forward to some more sunshine.

This coming Saturday, there will be a choice of walks starting from West Angle beach. The minibus will leave at 9.30 am prompt, for those who have booked a place. For those travelling independently, please gather in the beach car park for a 10.30 am start.
