The annual Pembrokeshire Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships took place in the grounds of Oakwood Park last week. Some 400 pupils from eight schools enjoyed the sunny but chilly day to compete for selection for the Dyfed Championships.
The top 10 finishers in each age category gained selection for the Pembrokeshire team and will now compete in the Dyfed Championships, also to be held at Oakwood where places in the National Championships in Brecon await them.
Tasker Milward's team were overall champions in the team competition, followed by Sir Thomas Picton in second and Ysgol Dewi Sant third.
Mr. Richards, of Sir Thomas Picton School, and one of the championship organisers, said: "This annual event has again been a huge success. I would like to thank all the children who took part, all the teachers who gave up their time to help organise the event and coach the children and I'd like to thank Oakwood for sponsoring the championships by providing refreshments and making their grounds available for the course. Good luck to all the winners for the Dyfed Championships next week."
