THE waiting is nearly over for a rare performance in Tenby by one of the world's top jazz bands.

With tickets subsidised by the Arts Council, The Dan Cassidy Quartet are swinging at St. Mary's Church House tomorrow (Saturday) at 7.30 pm.

Also appearing is Tenby's 18-year-old jazz pianist Jack Stacey.

Dan Cassidy, brother of the late singer Eva Cassidy, reflects the classic jazz era of the 1930s.

He plays a mean violin. Iceland's Gunnar Hilmarsson is on lead guitar, James Hickman (UK) plays rhythm guitar and 'LM', also from America, is on double bass.

The quartet are thrilled to return to Church House, which they consider one of the friendliest venues in Britain.

Dan Cassidy was born in Maryland, later playing in several bands with his sister Eva (the late songstress who enjoyed worldwide acclaim.)

Their numbers appeal to all ages. They include 'Clair' by Gilbert O'Sullivan, 'My Heart Belongs to Daddy' by Cole Porter and 'Oh, Lady Be Good' by George Gershwin.

Tickets, subsidised by the Arts Council at £12, are still available by telephoning 01834 843485 or pay at the door.
