An events venue in Tenby has been praised for a successful summer season.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown, said that the wrestling and family nights that had been held over the summer period at the De Valence Pavilion, ensured that the venue which is located on Upper Frog Street, had enjoyed a “good summer”.
“We have the East End Flyover Company currently rehearsing for their Roald Dahl indoors and outdoors celebration event taking place this weekend, and up next the Blues Festival,” she told her fellow members, adding that the trust had seen a profit margin of 58.6 in what was effectively the first year of trying to encourage bookings at the venue.
The Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall praised Clr. Mrs. Brown’s voluntary management of running the bar, explaining that the resources generated, was helping fund improvements at the building.
“The whole town is reaping the benefits of a vibrant De Valance, it’s like a different world in that part of Tenby now,” added Clr. Mike Evans.
